Wow, haven't blogged in a while...

I've been putting aside my lj, but there's not much to blog about. :) So, I've been on break since the 20th and I did well on my finals, so I'm excited.

And for all my readers, I know I said I would be putting up a new story, but lately I think I've decided I'm not going to finish it and post it. It's okay and everything and I really like the chemistry between the two main characters, but I've just sort of lost interest right now. Plus, my Word on my Mac bombed on me today, said something about too many installations out of nowhere even thought it's been running fine. So I'm probably gonna have to buy another one soon. Anyone know any good prices? The ones I've been browsing are way too much, like in the $500. It's crazy, didn't Word used to be free on computers? Lol.

But back to writing, I really want to post a full length story but I think I'm going to do something fantasy/romance related and not set in the high school scene. I'm still waiting for some inspiration to hit me; I have a few things to think about but I still haven't worked out the plot details... So until then, I'm just waiting. :) I'll probably get some one-shots posted though; I've had a lot of those running around in my head.

On another note, I've finished reading Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. It was interesting...definitely not one of my favorites, but it was good for a quick read. A quote that I liked was, "No--when the rain falls you just let it fall and you grin like a madman and you dance with it, because if you can make yourself happy in the rain then you're doing pretty alright in life."

I hope that every had a great holiday and until next time...

~Lauren

ew, stupid day.

So anyways, we've been testing lately for our high school exit exams and today was the last day for it. So I got to school around 7:35 - our school starts at 8:00 - only to find out that because of traffic delays, schools going to start at 9:00 instead. I'm like, wft? My dad already left when he dropped me off so when my friends Katie and Ali got to school, we walked down this path for like two miles. Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. And of course, my worn out converse just couldn't take it, so I got a few blisters. Haha, go me. It was windy so we got wind burn too, but yeah. It was a creepy path, but since it was drizzling, it made it so cool, kind of haunted. So yeah, we stood around and then made our way back to school. Once we got there we went to our classes and tested for four hours. The problem was, I got done with my test in about an hour because they are so freaking easy. So I sat there for three hours, and got hit by a huge paper ball because some stupid people were betting on how many baskets they could make in the trash can across the room. I just happened to be in the way. Idiots.

So, the day went on as normal and I was bored...as usual. I took the bus home today and my bus driver - the coolest BD you'll ever meet - wasn't there. There was this really strict dude that assigned our seats and told us not to talk. He got to the school about fifteen minutes after school ended too so I was pretty ticked off by then. He's like, "I don't want to here any of you talk because I have other things to worry about." I was just like staring at him like he was nuts. God.

So when I got off the bus I went home and everything went normal. 'Til my dad decided he was going to pick Children Favorites again. He's a sports fanatic and my brother's basketball season just started again. He's like, "Lauren, clean up the kitchen and do the dishes." Then he tells my brother to sit down at the table and talk to him about how his practice went frame-by-frame. I've been cleaning up the kitchen for like two weeks and my brother hasn't done jack squat. He proceeds to act like it's a burden to say, "Yeah, well dad, we got in the gym and had to share it with the girls today. We did lay-up drills and Randy got kicked off the team." I guess tennis isn't manly enough for my dad since he never asked how my practice went when it was my season. And he only came to like three of my games. Whatever.

So sorry about this rant. Nobody probably read about it but that definately felt good. Thank God for my lj. :) Now, i'm going to go and prepare for my Tumbes-Choco Magdalena presentaton tomorrow in biology.

♥Lauren.

Wow, a break

It feels weird having nothing to do since I've been so busy this past month with school work. All my teachers find some sadistic amusement in throwing projects on us the week before finals, so I have been busy working on those, and then, of course, the actual finals took place on Wednesday and Thursday. But now I'm free of any work until I get some at school tomorrow.

I got my hair cut yesterday. I got sidebangs once again and I got all of my layers trimmed, adding shorter ones in the back. I think it looks cute so it doesn't bug me. I got about three inches of my hair cut off so it is a lot shorter but my hair grows super fast anyways. But yeah, my hairdresser asked me if she could style it because she had some extra time before her next client. She's so sweet; she curled it and I loved it. :) She didn't even charge me.

I haven't been writing anything lately and that explains my lack of updates on fictionpress, so if any of my readers are reading this, I apologize.

I just read Shattered Mirror by Amelia Atwater Rhodes for the second time. She's so great; she blows my mind everytime and she definately needs to have a sequel to that book. The ending practically begged for one.

And that about sums it up. I hope everyone had a good weekend because I know I did. :) Have a good week!

♥ Lauren.

I couldn't go and get tickets to see P!ATD because I had something pop up tomorrow after school. It sucks because not only were they going to be there but Jack's Mannequin was too...And they're so close...San Jose, my God.
My friend said that she's going though tomorrow and she'll take lots of pictures for me so I cheered up after that. Damn.

So, hope ya'll had a good weekend. I didn't do much...just got my hair cut and cleaned my room. Shocking, I know.

my parents and their problems

Well, I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was okay. Nobody came over because usually we have it at my grandma's house, but she's been ill lately and they didn't want to drive down to our house either. Then I thought that we were suppose to go up to Washington to visit my other side of the family, but it happened that my mother and my brother got sick. From whom you ask? Oh, that would be me. :) Damn.

So yeah, we ended up staying home in the all, all four of us, which was really uncomfortable. You see, my parents don't really talk to each other, unless it's through email but only when they need to. They've been this way for a while, and I have a feeling that they are only staying together for my brother and I. But you know, it already feels like they are divorced. Whenever I ask my mom where dad is she uses the same tone she uses when she talks about her "terrible, unorganized boss." Not good, right? Yeah. So we're just sitting at the dinner table with a strained silence and the clanging of forks and knives. I almost cried... I was being pathetic. But I really do appreciate my mom for slaving away all day so we could have a nice dinner. It was good, and I love her.

So, sorry i'm bitching. I just needed to get that out. I don't really know if my brother has noticed or not and I don't know if I really want to talk to him about it to see if he does. But I might soon.

And on another note, school tomorrow. Yippee =/

Yeah, it's my birthday today! And for the first time this year it rained! That's like, a mega-bonus! For some reason, i just enjoy dark, gloomy, rainy days over a sunny bright day; those are annoying =/

And so anyways, I've been really frustrated because our internet went down on Friday and they said we wouldn't have internet for 3-10 days so they could upgrade our phone line. WTF? I practically died when i heard that, but I lasted six days, lol. But now i must catch up on an essay because now i can research it.

Gah.

So anyways, school's a drag. I'm sick of it already and it's only the fourth week. =/ I've started to check out some colleges and I've decided that I'm going around the east coast somewhere, just because I hate California so much and I love it over there. But my mom said that if my dad gets a discount (because he works at UC Davis) then I might have to go to a UC school. Which sucks.

So anyways, more ranting about a good friend of mine. I'm pissed off. So before tennis season starts, we have conditioning for two weeks and I meet this new girl named Katrina. She's from New Jersey and we really hit it off. So anyways, since she didn't really know anyone I invited her to eat lunch with my weird group of people, that consists of six or seven people. And everything seems fine. Until my friend Katie starts getting mad and I didn't have any idea why. And I ask my other friend Lyndsay about it and she's like, "Maybe she's jealous of Katrina."

I mean, it's not like I'm ignoring Katie. We all went to go see The Covenant together last weekend and Katrina and Katie were talking through the whole thing, so I thought everything was fine. But I've been around Katie during the morning and lunchtime with our group of friends and she hasn't said a word to me in two days. I've said hi a couple times but she didn't really say anything. So then I ask Lyndsay again if she found out what Katie was mad about and she says, "Yeah, she said it was Katrina."

So now Katie's mad at me because of Katrina, and now Katrina feels really bad. Damn.

ranting...

OMG, i HATE my tennis coach. She's such a bitch! Like on Friday, we were suppose to get out of school to go watch college people play tennis at this estate in napa, and apparantly we weren't suppose to do that because we weren't suppose to get out of school and not physically play. So my coach should of known that, but instead I guess she tried to make it seem like we would be playing (we didn't know) and i guess the sports director found out. So anyways, on Friday, we were suppose to get out of class at 11:45 so we could leave and go. Half the team is waiting for her so she could take us, and we see her pull up to the curb (in her tennis outfit because we were suppose dress to impress so obviously she knew that we couldn't go). The sports director comes out and they start talking and the whole team is just like WTF? Then she drives away. It would of been better if she at least told us instead of just driving off like that. It's just really embarrasing because we all have to go back to class, after we told all of our teachers that we would be gone. Some of us had to practically beg to get out of class.

So anyways today at practice, she comes in all nice and apologetic and then we break off into our groups. I'm in doubles so we go to some of the end courts. So anyways, she partners me up with this girl named Nicole (and my God, she can't serve, or volley, and she can barely hit) but i've been paired up with her before. So we have to play against them and we lost 4-6. Nicole freakin' let seven volleys go straight past her when they were practically given to her on a silver platter and i fell a couple of times diving for them. God, and my coach doesn't even watch us, she's always with her singles player. So anyways, this one time she comes down to our court and watches us play (mind that the nice act is totally dropped). She's yelling at us to smile at our partners, and communicate (which we all do already) Okay so anyways, Nicole hates playing at the net so she usually backs up to the baseline with me and so anyways, the Molly (the girl on the other team) has a high lob (sp?) going straight towards Nicole. It bounces directly on the base line and Nicole's running back to get it. She swings at it and of course, misses. So the coach starts yelling at me because I should have "backed her up" when she missed it. I'm like WTF? It's practically impossible to be behind Nicole with a hit like that. I would be backed up to the fence and i wouldn't be able to swing at all. So i'm jsut like, "Yeah okay." Then five minutes later we're still playing and all of a sudden my coach just like snaps at us all, saying, "Excuse me, i told you to do something and not one of you said 'yes coach'." She's like glaring at us all, yelling at us and i'm standing there thinking, "What the hell is she on?"

So then she leaves after we all mumble, "Yes coach." So after we finished up that game, we all get some water and Molly's like, "What was she talking about? Did she tell us anything?"

And we're just like, "Dude, we don't even know what she's talking about. We didn't hear anything." And blah blah blah.

So they didn't know what she was talking about either. And then we're all in a really bad mood.

So after we lost, my friend Katrina and Ashlynn come over to us and there like, "Why was the coach yelling at you guys?"

We just shrug and Katrina's all like, "God, what's her problem? There's no way we can have fun and smile when she's yelling at us."

We all laugh and go abck to our matches, blah blah blah.

So at the end of practice, the coach all tells us in for a meeting. We star picking up the balls because we're at the VERY end of the courts, and she tells us to just leave them and hustle up. So we go over there and she talks for like ten minutes. Practice ends at 5:00 and it was 5:25. So she finally finishes and she tells the doubles to go down to court six and get ALL the balls. I'm like ready to yell at her, because she let all the singles and JV team go, but all of their balls were blowing down to court 6. And of course, my dad had been waiting for me since 5:00. He's just sitting in his car and i feel hecka bad because i hate making him wait like that. So anyways, we all run down there while she LEAVES. God i hate that. One all the balls are back in the carts, it like 5:40 and i have to go into the locker, get all my stuff and change. So finally when i get in the car, my dad's been waiting there for fifty minutes. I just got home.

My dad doesn't really like our coach because she's soooo disorganized. Like, she forgot to call me to tell me that summer conditioning was starting a week early. And then when i ask her about it, she's like, "Oh, i'm sorry Lauren. I must have lost your number." o_0.

I sooo want to quit right now, but i love tennis too much.

And like anyone is gonna read all this, i just needed to rant.

ahhhh, shopping for school.

So school starts tomorrow and i'm sad summer is ending :(. But i did go shopping, hehe. At anchor blue mostly and i got three pairs of jeans from old navy. But yeah, not a lot.

We had our first pre-game tennis match at Vacaville high school. We only brought twelve people from our team (Varsity) and they had twenty so some of us had to play a second time. But yeah, I play doubles and we won. 6-0, 6-0. We played two sets. It was really sad though, because they only scored FOUR points off of us in both sets. o_0 but yeah...

So, my grandparents came yesterday because we're all going to this race. Some Indy 500 drivers are going to be racing there today, so i guess i'm kinda excited. But yeah, they also came to watch my brother's champion basketball game for a summer program. It was sad because his team went undeafeated the whole season and then this game, they lost by about ten points. It was a good game though! And the team they played (which they had beat before) did really good.

If you're one of my fp reviewers/readers, i'm sorry i haven't been updating. I almost have One Night chapter 11 done, but i barely starting on GITB. I haven't had the inspiration to do that one, but i think i know how it's going to end. It just may take one more fluff chapter to get there, but yeah. Then the drama starts. =D

♥,

Lauren.

im back :)

Yeah, im back! Hawaii was fun but i kinda got bored after the first week because we had done everything already that we wanted to do. We visited a ton of family (my mom's side) because they all live there. I met cousins i didn't even know i had, rofl. Anyways, yeah. It was funny because my mom does polynesian dancing (which includes like tahitian dancing, i used to do tahitian but i quit) and we went to go and see a friend of her's that danced on a cruise with her. So we did and my mom's friend told the band that my mom danced also, so they called her up on stage and made her dance. I was cracking up because my mom was afraid her pad was gonna come out because she was wearing a skirt when she was performing. She was soo embarrassed but she did great. lol, she kept asking me if she looked hecka stupid for like hours after she danced.

But i loved the beach! I loved going in the water but i usually just liked to walk the beach at night because it's soo romantic because the moon's right there and everything. Yeah.

I had fun and got to hear a ton of ghost stories from my relatives. Apparently, they have a lot. lol.

So anyways, my friends called me today and i'm going shopping with them on Saturday. And then my best friend that goes to another school called and we're gonna go and see POTC on Sunday. I already saw it and i'm pretty sure she saw it like three times already but hey, who misses a chance to ogle at Orlando and Johnny? Hehe, naughty me ;D Who else was mad at the ending of the movie? And didn't that captain die? lol

-Lauren

Bored

Yep, i'm bored. rofl.

Two weeks into summer and there is absolutely nothing i can do at the moment. I don't have a car (darn), my parents are working, and my brother is on xbox live for most of his 12 year old life talking to people who knows where. So, i've just been listening to music, dancing, and watching tv. and writing...lol

I hecka want to go see Panic! at the disco on tour because they are coming to San Fran. in July i think and that's actually only an hour from where i live and my mom works in the city. Yeah, but i don't want my parents to come with me, lol, because i heard Brendon gets a lap dance on stage ;D

And i'm not even sure if my friends know who panic! at the disco is. Well, there is one but yeah, i'm not really close to her or anything in our group of friends. My friend does owe me though. I went to a 16th birthday party for the guy she likes and we stayed the whole time when it was hecka boring. All we did there was sit, staring at people because half the people, while they were in our pe class, we didn't really know. lol, it got better at the end though. We had fun then because they had a jump house. Yes, a jump house and it was spiderman! Haha. Eric totally pushed me though and my elbow had started bleeding. Then Danielle and Tiffany threw cake on him, lol.

Yep, well, i'm gonna go and blast some music or something. :D or harass my brother.
